Since 1994 DAN has been actively involving divers in the collection of data for scientific use: over the years they have created a unique and valuable database on which many doctors and scientists study the body’s reactions to hyperbaric conditions in order to make diving safer.
The analysis of the changes that the body undergoes during a dive such as micro particles that develop during a dive, Doppler and blood draws before, after and during a dive are examples of investigations aimed at mitigating risks and creating new guidelines.
With Diverse Ability another journey begins, with new friends, new citizens of the world who will help bring large-scale data collection to the world of disability and diving.
“We believe in divers, their thirst for knowledge and their diverse skills and attention to safety issues.”
Professor Alessandro Marroni, President of DAN Europe
