DIVERSE ABILITY DAY

The Diverse Ability Day event aims to promote diving for people with disabilities, offering the opportunity to experience the thrill of breathing underwater for the first time through the performance of a real diving test (Try Scuba Diving).

The aim is to enhance the rehabilitative, recreational and aggregative value of diving and affirm its numerous psycho-physical benefits.

Diving and finding yourself free to move again, light, without obstacles and impediments is a unique emotion, for anyone.

“Filippo was very excited at the idea of this new experience but he never imagined that he would even make a “real” dive. Once we met the two instructors, we saw him disappear under the surface of the water. By mid-morning we had already understood what was going to happen: Filippo would have asked us to be able to continue this new beautiful adventure with a real course.

A diving course will be able to demonstrate once again that our children, if properly stimulated and guided, are able to do things that many people, not knowing them, would consider improbable if not impossible. And once again, looking beyond the wall of disability, we will understand what their potential is. We also thought that Philip will do something that we are not able to do; who knows, maybe he will be able to teach us…

What else can we say? Just what Filippo told us on the way home: “I can’t wait to start the course!”
